Lamp current (A): 0,37 HQV® lamps and black-glass fluorescent lamps are used to create fluorescence.
Various materials have the ability to convert invisible ultra-violet radiation into visible light (fluorescence effect). HQV®, L 18/73 and L 36/73 are lamps that emit long-wave UV radiation and therefore excite fluorescence. They are therefore ideal for all applications involving fluorescence analysis. The lamps generate radiation only in the long-wave UV range between 300 nm and 400 nm. Visible radiation is almost completely absorbed.
HQV® lamps are normally operated on 230 V ac with a choke; the fluorescent lamps are operated with a choke and starter. Operating HQV® lamps without an outer bulb or with a damaged outer bulb is dangerous and therefore not permitted.
